BCTC Survey Results

Thanks to all who completed the BCTC survey. Even if you did not already complete the survey, please feel free to add your opinions, as we will continue to monitor responses coming in.

Here are 4 key takeaways:

  1. We value an inclusive but committed club environment that welcomes and supports all types of runners.
    • Desire to grow. Let’s encourage others to join our community!
    • Greatest interest in funds to cover entry costs for team events (yay!) and to reduce the cost of team gear, so that all can wear BCTC colors with pride.
  2. We have a wide range of “goal” races this year. Let’s represent!
    • For many, the key mileposts are longer races – half marathons, marathons, triathlons, even ultras – but it’s likely that shorter races are also in there.
    • Some key team races also figure among these goals – the Blue Ridge Relay and USATF Club Cross Country. Stay tuned as the Races and Training Committee gets working to support these goals. And as the Social Events Committee works to organize around some of the races where BCTC will be out in force.
  3. Some of us need an orientation to Slack.
    • We get it; Slack is new for many of us, reach out if you need help, or click here to get signed up.
    • Check out the brief Guide to BCTC’s Slack space on the Club website.
    • You can use Slack for conversations with other BCTC teammates as well as to receive notifications about Club news, events, and workouts.
    • If you don’t want Slack, you can opt to receive email notifications by logging in to the website and modifying your alert preferences.
  4. The majority of us consider membership to be a bargain.
    • That’s good, because we need resources to deliver the things you want. And as you can see in our treasurer’s report, we now have (modest) resources to use for team events and activities.
    • But we won’t yet be able to do everything that all members want on dues alone – so your input on top priorities is especially valuable. This is also a challenge to all of us to work to increase our revenue base. The Fundraising Committee welcomes your ideas!

Thanks for reading, and remember: Rattle, rattle!
