BCTC runs to Blue Ridge Relay success again
The 2026 Blue Ridge Relay marked the 22nd running of the now-classic 200-plus mile race. Starting in Grayson Highlands, VA, and winding through the mountains and towns of western North Carolina to finish in Asheville, the BRR once again proved to be a great race for Bull City Track Club runners.
The BCTC Masters team continued its winning streak, taking the Masters title in 22:28 (a 6:37 pace) — good for 4th overall.
For the second year in a row, the club’s Grandmaster team won the 50+ category. Their time of 26:27 (7:47 pace) also earned 2nd in the Masters division and 20th overall.
Other Bull City Track Club members joined other teams in this year’s mountain relay. Leading that list, BCTC women helped the Carolina Girls Collective take the Open Women’s title, while other club runners contributed to numerous other finishing teams.
The BRR has grown considerably since its 2005 debut with just 10 teams. In 2026, 192 teams representing 15 states — and Costa Rica! — completed the course.
